Kaleto Fortress (Shishmanova Fortress)

The Kaleto Fortress, also known as Tsar Ivanshishman’s Fortress, is located on the western hill above the city of Nikopol. It is 350 m long and 250 m wide and was a heavily fortified fortress of important strategic importance and a well-protected port. The western part of the fortress with the “charshiyskata gate” is partially preserved.
